"I
just love photographing people, and I consider it an honor and a
pleasure to be part of a special occasion like a wedding. "
Chris
D'Andrea's romance with the camera began at age 14 when his father
presented him with a Yashicamat 124G camera, (a classic TLR Medium
Format camera) and helped him set up a home darkroom. Chris worked
in black and white at first, joining the High School Newspaper
and Yearbook staff. Later he took Photography and Art courses
at Antioch College, California College of Arts and Crafts, and
U.C.Berkeley, where he graduated with a degree in Italian Literature.
A San Francisco Bay Area native, Chris lives in Berkeley with
his spouse and two young children.
"Besides
my cameras and backup equipment, I bring to every wedding patience
, respect, and a sense of humor."
Chris
still uses the Yashicamat, although his main cameras now are Bronica
ETRSi for Medium Format, and Canon EOS for 35mm -and now for digital
capture. All weddings are photographed in color, then scanned
at high resolution and posted on Pictage.com, the premiere online
wedding lab. This hybrid film/digital system that gives clients
the advantages of traditional film capture, while allowing digital
editing and retouching. The result is that clients can review
their proofs online and even order prints with the built-in e-commerce
features. Final prints are produced on archival photographic paper,
and prints can be ordered in Color, Black & White, or Sepia
tone from any image.
